Avoid the CHI Flat Iron Scam
So you have decided to buy a CHI flat iron online but want to avoid the CHI flat iron scam. Before you proceed with your decision to purchase a CHI product online, check out Farouk Systems’ Beware of Counterfeits webpage. The webpage has a PDF file that you can view which has exclusive photos of comparing a fake to an authentic CHI iron.
Caution on Website Purchases
Beware of purchasing CHI products from:
- Websites that are selling the product at wholesale price or lower
- Websites that are shipping from China or Hong Kong
- Websites that do not have full contact information, including a phone number and physical address. (If all that is available is an email address, click your back button)
Forfeiting your CHI warranty
Farouk Systems is very clear about the limited warranty on CHI products that are purchased only from professional salons. What does that mean exactly? It means by purchasing a CHI appliance online you void that warranty.
So now what? If you can, purchase from a reputable website that will honor the warranty and that will replace the product on their behalf.
Purchase from a store that has good standing
Seems easy enough to find a store with good standing right? In order to do so, read reviews about the store’s customer service. Are they easy to contact? Are consumers ranting about them on forums or are they holding them in the highest regard with lots of praise and compliments?
Best Flat Irons recommends purchasing ordering online from Folica.com. Folica honor’s CHI’s 1 year warranty.

I see that you recommend Folica.com, but when I call CHI Support, they say that Folica.com is not an approved reseller. Is going to a salon the only way to avoid the scam? How does Folica get them if they are not an approved reseller?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Please refer to Folica’s Consumer Notice.
