Best Flat Irons: Amika Gives CHI Some Major Competition
CHI has been a number one seller in ceramic flat irons for years. The original CHI Ceramic flat iron has produced amazing results with several celebrity fans that adore it such as “Ugly Betty Star”; America Ferrera.
CHI has had some short comings such as defective flat irons that stop working after a year and sometimes even less. CHI has also had to deal with counterfeits being sold on eBay which has stirred up even more trouble; since buyers that have purchased the flat irons did so without knowledge that what they purchased was actually counterfeit CHIs. Then they have gone full storm to shout on blogs and forums across the globe stating that their CHI stopped working within a short time period which just fueled the fire for giving CHI a bad rep.
The Amika ceramic flat iron is fairly new to the professional hair community. It was sold exclusively by private sellers in Kiosk’s at the mall and small retail beauty supply stores. Chances are you walked right past an Amika sales rep on your trip to the mall and passed them right by because you didn’t want to be bothered. You may have passed up a great flat iron.
Amika is compariable in design to the CHI. The Amika does not offer custom temperate adjustment just like the original CHI, but it does offer 100% ceramic plates (not thin coated ones like other brands.) The 100% pure ceramic plates radiate far-infared heat that will preserve moisture and protect your hair cuticles from damage. Amika states that with regular use of their flat iron; will result in healthier hair.
The biggest design boosts over the CHI is that the ceramic plates are curved while the CHI tends to be more rectangular in shape. The curved plates make creating curls and waves easier to accomplish for any user.
Amika Ceramic Flat irons were also designed to lock in color and provides professional results of smooth, glossy and silky hair.
Amiska promises straightening the hair in one pass while moisturizing your hair at the same time. Watch the promotional and demonstration video for Amika on here with hair model Dominque Jackson.
Amika offers their original ceramic flat iron in 6 fun color designs: Jaguar, Cheetah, Zebra, Midnight, Deep Purple and Hot Pink. They run about $100.00-150.00 in malls across the US and about $200-$250.00 on their official website. Folica is an authorized seller and you can purchase one at Folica for about $116.00 with FREE shipping. BUY NOW
Amika also backs their products up with a 1 year warranty. Visit the offical site for more information.

omgg, i have the AMIKA. just bought it a week or so bak. i straighten my hair every day, and its wonderful. no split ends, and no damage. it is just as good as the CHI even better bc it doesnt damage yur hair as much. theyre also much pretttier =)i also think the amika leaves my hair looking silker than my CHI.
sourc: i have a CHI and an Amika.
CHI is a year old, Amika is a week.
i would recommen Amika more bc of the price && results.

I’ve had many flat irons over the years (my hair is very thick and curly), and the Amika is by far the best one I have ever used. I just got it about two weeks ago and my hair is sooo smooth. I love to make long waves with it. My hair no longer looks stiff or like straw as it has when I have used other flat irons. It has also cut my styling time in half. I recommend the Amika for anyone, it’s great!
