I get questions from readers all the time asking if this flat iron is worth it or if that flat iron is better. All of the flat irons rated on this site are the best of the best. Of course they are not all perfect. What works well for one person, may not work as well for the next. It’s all a matter of preference and needs. Maybe you don’t mind waiting 10 minutes for your flat iron to heat up, as long as you have full temperature control .  Or perhaps you’re on the other end and are short on time so you need to have a flat iron that heats up in less than 5 minutes. Whatever your needs may be, there is a flat iron that is perfect for you.

It saves in the long run

If you have had your hair chemically relaxed than you know the grueling process. Sitting in a salon chair for an hour with stinky, sulpher smelling chemicals all over your head; all the while trying to avoid letting the chemicals drip down the side of your face to prevent chemical burns to the skin. Ouch! Just thinking about all that is making me nauseous.

Chemical relaxing is also very expensive. If your hair is shoulder length or longer; then you can expect to pay $100+ for each treatment; which may only hold a few weeks. You could easily spent $400.00 in 3 months to have your hair chemically treated. The sad news is even with having your hair chemically treated you will still need to run a flat iron once through your hair to make it bone straight.

You could have easily bought a good flat iron with that investment.

You get what you pay for

For starters we’re going to have to just get this part over with and decided on, so ready for this? You will have to spend a decent amount on a good flat iron. I know, it’s kind of like crushing your dream huh; but it’s true. You need to put more value into your hair. In all of my years of using flat irons and talking with other women about them, no one has ever said “My $20.00 flat iron is the best flat iron ever”.

If you are using a flat iron that only cost you $20.00 then you need to take a good look at your hair because chances are you are damaging your hair. $20.00 flat irons do not have the quality and technology to prevent heat damage and most likely is inducing damage.

The good news is you can purchase a flat iron that will not put a huge dent in your wallet too.
